Why What Who etc
Hello!
My name is Prabhjot Bedi (www.prabhjotbedi.com) and I am the President & Founder of Eclat Hospitality (www.eclathospitality.com) a hospitality Consulting, Training & Recruitment firm.
Over the years, I have been on both sides of the table, recruiting as an operational manager and preparing students for the real world as an educator ( I used to run a hotel management school). Now as a professional recruiter, I am somewhat in the middle. And from where I stand, the two banks are far apart, very far apart.
I started talking to HR Heads and Principals about this. Both sides seemed to have a fair point - curriculum is important, industry only wants warm bodies, academia is outdated, comm skills are key etc etc.
So when we did the Eclat Hospitality & Career Symposium in Sep 2013, we made this topic our first panel discussion. The discussion was lively to say the least, with passions running strong on both sides. By the end of the hour long discussion, I had decided to make this my project for 2014.
So thats the genesis. Now for the actual work!
